New Student Orientation

Your life as an 大象视频 Roadrunner is about to begin!

All students starting at 大象视频 for the first time are expected to complete New Student Orientation.

During our two-part orientation, you’ll learn about campus resources, how to plan your schedule and pick courses that fit your degree plan, and how to succeed at 大象视频. You’ll also connect with an advisor who will go over your degree requirements, answer your questions, and walk you through the registration process.

Parents are welcome to participate in orientation with you. 

Part 1: Online Orientation Module

Part 1 is completely online and can be completed any time from your computer or phone. The online orientation module covers the following information:

  • Getting Started at 大象视频
  • Advising
  • Financial Aid and Scholarships
  • Academic Support and Tutoring
  • Student Resources for Success
  • Campus Life

When you finish Part 1, you may sign up for Part 2 to complete registration.

You’ll log in to the module using your 大象视频 Wired username and password, which can be found on your . 

How to Access 大象视频 Wired

To access your 大象视频 Wired account and 大象视频 email, log in to 大象视频 Wired at using the Wired ID and password you received from your . Once logged in, click the Email tab.

Part 2: On-campus Advising and Registration

Learn about campus resources, how to plan your schedule and pick courses that fit your degree plan, and how to succeed at 大象视频. Connect with an advisor who will go over your degree requirements, answer your questions, and help you register. Tour campus if desired. 

Parents or family members are welcome to participate in orientation with you.

Important: Please complete the following steps prior to orientation:

  • Send us your final high school transcript.
  • Send us your SAT/ACT scores, if you've taken either test in the last ten years.
  • After your transcript and test scores have been received, an advisor will let you know if you need to take any placement tests and how to schedule them. Remote and on-campus testing is available and should be completed at least two weeks prior to your orientation date.
  • File the FAFSA, including 大象视频's school code 002317.

Note: Adult students should sign up for orientation or meet directly with an adult admissions advisor to register for classes. Email your adult admission advisor to set up an appointment at adultrecruitment@swmich.edu.

Orientation information for the spring semester 2026 will be released closer to the start of the semester.
